After visiting the Yorkshire Alpaca Group show back in 2010 I was hooked and spent the next couple of years firstly convincing my husband Peter and then the family to move from normal suburb life on the adventure of owning and breeding alpacas.
Like most alpaca owners we started with pet boys Caleb, Cookie and Figo. This quickly grew with two more Murphy and Malty and in 2016 the girls arrived.
We presently have a breeding herd of six girls and our first home born black alpaca arrived in the summer of 2016: Caesar followed by lots more.
Our ethos is to be very hands on and knowledgeable of our animals whilst producing high quality black alpacas using the best genetics possible and of course to enjoy them.
Little Alpaca Company is based in North Yorkshire in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. We started our journey to firstly enjoy and learn from these fascinating animals before embarking on breeding our own herd.
Spending time observing and interacting with the alpacas is key to their well-being and ours, as their calm, gentle manner take the pressure of everyday life away.
Using traditional methods of processing their fleece is key to producing high-quality alpaca wool goods that you can find in our online shop.
And of course, we are always keen to chat and spread the alpaca message to others.
